Dolphin Dance is a lovely, fully equipped, gulf view, dog friendly townhouse in Barrier Dunes, which is located right next to a state park on Cape San Blas.

The beach is pristine, fine white sand. You can walk for miles. The beach is also super dog friendly and the water near Dolphin Dance is shallow close to shore, making it an excellent place for small children and dogs to play in the surf. I have also seen many teenagers enjoying skim boarding in the shallow water close to shore.

Barrier Dunes itself is ideally situated on the Cape, right next to the entrance to St. Joe's Peninsula State Park with its many hiking, biking, wildlife viewing and beach exploring opportunities. An excellent location also to take a canoe or kayak and explore the wildlife in the back bay which is between the cape and the mainland. This is a great place to see wildlife! There is also a boat launch, so whether you bring your own boat, and yes, there is parking available for a boat at Dolphin Dance, or whether you rent a boat, you can do so easily and conveniently.

Dolphin Dance is close to two small picturesque and interesting small towns, Apalachicola to the east and Port St. Joe to the north as you approach the mainland. You will find restaurants, shops, and sporting activities galore close by. Go horseback riding right on the Cape. Rent a power boat or go deep sea fishing. It's all nearby. There is also an excellent golf course 15 minutes away.

Dolphin Dance is clean, super comfy and absolutely fully equipped.

Our Fabulous November vacation!!!!

The condo was lovely- since it was just my mother and I (and her little dog), so I especially appreciated the 2 bedrooms each having their own full bathroom (& balcony)! The kitchen was fully equipped, and the layout of the home is perfect. We had absolutely NO problems and would definitely stay again. The DVD, book, and game collection is huge if you happen to get a rainy day. There are 3 balconies (one off each bedroom and one off living room), which all have chairs to sit and relax. The beach decor throughout the home is detailed and helps to immerse you into the beach setting.... I’m home now and missing it already 😕. The beach is really, really close, my guess is about 100-300 feet? (my measurement skills for distance aren’t great, lol) and the beach itself is the best I’ve been on, maybe ever- I walked for miles (6.5 according to phone app) and saw maybe 20 people the entire time! It was beautiful to see people with their very happy dogs on the beach (I think Cape San Blas is also Labrador heaven!) We also rented a kayak one day from “San Flea”, who were super. They were very laid back (they aren’t strict about return times) and we were able to take mom’s dog with us on the tandem kayak. Overall, our entire trip was fantastic and I would definitely recommend both Cape San Blas and the Dolphin’s Dance condo!! The only thing I would mention for fellow travelers is that all the homes/condos, etc. on the island are elevated for storm protection, which of course means that there are stairs in all homes here. The Dolphin’s dance condo has carpeted stairs from the door to the main floor (where the living room and kitchen are located) and another carpeted flight up to the bedrooms. I actually enjoyed the extra exercise because I’m from a part of Fl where we rarely have stairs. Because they are carpeted (and have railing/banisters), they aren’t a big deal to climb & they aren’t unusually steep or anything. They’re just like the stairs I used to have when I lived in NY. There’s also a baby gate in one of the bedroom closets if you need to block the stairs off (if you have kids & are worried). I hope this helps someone.... have fun!!

Dolphin Dance Condo

We enjoyed staying in this comfortable condo. It was an end unit with beautiful views of a pond and a distant view of the Gulf.
